ZIKR HAI KAI SAAL KA
In this beautiful and nostalgia-filled long play, the charming Rahat Kazmi as Sikandar and the enchanting Atiqa Odho as Neelofar play star-crossed lovers who reunite after several years. The hitch? Sikandar is married with two teen kids and Neelofar who never recovered from their break-up is still unmarried. Nevertheless it is obvious that these two still harbor feelings for each other and it’s hard not to feel immense regret for both especially in the scene when Sikandar meets up Neelofar in her hotel room and both say that they are wearing their signature fragrances especially for their reunion. Neelofar who has since their break-up taken to wearing only white clothes dresses up in a pretty blue-green outfit for Sikandar’s sake. With her thick mane left loose, and her swan-like neck arched onto the sofa, along with the background music of “raat yun dil mein teri khoi huwee yaad ayi” it is hard not to fall in love with the gorgeous and young Atiqa Odho all over again. To heighten the romance of Zikr Hai Kai Saal Ka, Arshad Mehmood composed the music with Faiz Ahmed Faiz’s poetry and had the melodiously sweet chanteuse Nayyara Noor sing the compositions.
